People suffering with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) are invited to “Solutions for Heartburn and Reflux,” a free seminar on Tuesday evening, Sept. 18, at Arrowwood Lodge in Baxter about new, state-of-the-art minimally invasive treatments now available in the area.
Dr. Paul Severson of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Minnesota Reflux and Heartburn Center will speak about the latest treatments for GERD including the LINX Reflux Management System beginning at 6 p.m. There will also be educational booths beginning at 5:30 p.m. from various Center professionals who will discuss testing and procedures.
GERD is caused by a weak valve that allows acid, bile and stomach contents to flow back from the stomach into the esophagus, creating heartburn and often causing damage to the lining of the esophagus. In addition to heartburn, GERD sufferers experience regurgitation, hoarseness, persistent cough, asthma, bad breath, sleep disturbance, and tooth erosion.
A complimentary dinner will be provided. Please register calling 218-545-4343 or 844-200-BURN (2876). For more information, visit mnheartburn.org.
