Nicole Loxterkamp Joins CRMC’s Internal Medicine Team in Crosby

CRMC welcomes Nicole Loxterkamp, a board-certified family nurse practitioner, to its internal medicine team in Crosby. She brings more than 10 years of nursing experience, including emergency and critical care, and joins CRMC from Mille Lacs Health System.

Nicole grew up in Pierz, and Central Minnesota has always been home. She chose CRMC for the chance to truly know her patients and help them manage their health over time.

Nicole provides internal care, from routine checkups to ongoing management of long-term health conditions.

Why Does a Whole-Person Approach Matter?

Nicole believes a person is more than a diagnosis, symptom or lab value. She takes time to understand the whole person, mind, body and soul, and the story behind their health. She also wants patients to understand how the pieces of their health fit together and the “why” behind their care.

Rather than simply telling patients what to do, she listens, educates and partners with them on a plan. That plan reflects both medical evidence and what matters most to each patient.

“Health care shouldn’t be something done to a patient. It should be something built with them,” said Nicole Loxterkamp, CRMC Family Nurse Practitioner.

After years of caring for people in their most acute and vulnerable moments, Nicole looks forward to being there for everything in between.

Getting to Know Nicole

Outside of work, Nicole and her husband of 15 years, Aaron, keep busy with their six children. You’ll often find her at a volleyball or basketball game or a gymnastics meet, coaching from the sidelines. Rollerblading is one of her favorite ways to stay active, and she recently completed an inline marathon. As a family of eight, they love cruises, boating, swimming, bowling and anything that gets them outdoors and near the water.
