CRMC Helps Provide 6,000 Free Meals for Local Youth
CROSBY, Minn. – Another successful summer of the Cuyuna Lakes Lunch Bunch has wrapped up, ensuring local children had access to nutritious meals while school was out. Organized by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in partnership with area churches, the free program provided 5,890 lunches to children in Crosby, Deerwood, and Ironton from June through August.
The Lunch Bunch Mission
The Lunch Bunch was created to support students who rely on free or reduced-price lunches during the school year. Thanks to the collaboration of community partners and dedicated volunteers, children in the Cuyuna Lakes area received healthy weekday meals all summer long free of charge.
CRMC staff joined forces with local faith communities to make the initiative possible. Together, 60 volunteers gave their time and energy to prepare and serve meals. CRMC employees alone used 142 loaves of bread to make weekly sandwiches for the children.
