CRMC Aligns Services to Meet Evolving Community Needs

CROSBY, Minn. – Cuyuna Regional Medical Center (CRMC) today announced changes to its service offerings as part of a future-focused strategy to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the Lakes Country region. These changes prioritize access, quality and long-term sustainability, ensuring that expert care remains close to home.

In response to growing demand and shifting community demographics, CRMC will expand access to primary and specialty care while thoughtfully transitioning home care and hospice services to Vivie, a trusted regional provider, under a signed letter of intent. This transition ensures continued compassionate care for patients while enabling CRMC to reinvest in areas of highest patient need.

“Our region is growing and changing, and so are the needs of our patients,” said Amy Hart, chief executive officer, CRMC. “This change allows us to align care, while respecting the ongoing needs of our home care and hospice patients. We look forward to working closely with Vivie to ensure a smooth transition for all those involved.”

Key Investments

  • A new same-day clinic opening in Nisswa, offering medical care for all ages. The clinic will be located in the Schaefers Grocery Shopping Square and is expected to open by mid-2026.
  • Welcoming a full-time neurologist, Dr. Jacob Goodwin, as of September 2025, to expand access to specialty care, close to home.
  • Continued growth of oncology services and footprint, which have seen a 43% increase in patient volume since 2023.

This shift reflects CRMC’s broader strategy to address gaps in high-growth communities like Nisswa, while ensuring responsible stewardship of resources to best serve patients.

While CRMC’s home care and hospice services have served the community with compassion for decades, it now represents a decreasing portion of overall care delivery. CRMC will work closely with Vivie under a signed letter of intent to transition these services throughout the coming months. The transition is expected to be complete by year end.

“We are proud to further our work with CRMC and have a long history of collaboration,” said Mark Anderson, president and chief executive officer, Vivie. “Our deep experience serving this area will make for a seamless transition.”

Vivie serves communities across Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin, helping individuals live well at every stage of life. From in-home rehabilitation and chronic illness management to comfort care at the end of life, Vivie delivers personalized compassionate support for its patients.

“This isn’t about doing less; it’s about what’s best for the communities we serve,” Hart said. “We’re investing in care that meets today’s needs and tomorrow’s challenges, ensuring CRMC remains a trusted, independent leader in rural health.”

These updates are part of CRMC’s long-term strategic vision to deliver exceptional care, harness technology and strengthen community impact, all while staying true to its legacy of compassion, independence and innovation.
