Community Classic Golf Tournament Raises Record $47,902 for Local Patients
The CRMC Foundation’s Community Classic brought together golfers, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters for a day of friendly competition and community impact, raising a record-breaking $47,902 to support local patients in need.
Formerly known as Driving for Hospice, the annual 18-hole best ball scramble continues a meaningful tradition while embracing a new name that reflects its broader community impact. The Community Classic celebrates the power of neighbors, businesses, and friends coming together to make a difference—proving that even in a small town, generosity can make a big swing.
Held at Cuyuna Rolling Hills Golf Course, this year’s event welcomed 115 golfers and 20 volunteers and brought the community together in support of the cause, achieving its highest fundraising total ever.
Supporting Patients Beyond Medical Care
Proceeds from the event support the CRMC Foundation and its mission to ensure no one in the community faces illness or hardship alone. Funds raised directly benefit the Foundation’s Courage Cabinet program, which provides assistance to patients and families facing financial challenges during cancer treatment and other medical hardships.
“The Community Classic is a powerful example of what happens when a community rallies together,” said Jennifer Lowe, Foundation and Community Relations Director. “The support we see from participants and sponsors helps us provide real, tangible assistance to patients during some of their most challenging moments.”
A Community That Shows Up
Through events like the Community Classic, the CRMC Foundation connects community generosity with critical patient support programs. Funds raised help provide financial assistance, transportation support, gas cards, and other resources for individuals traveling to receive cancer treatment, easing the burden and allowing patients to focus on healing.
“The success of this event belongs to everyone who participated, volunteered, sponsored, donated, or supported it in any way,” Lowe said. “We are incredibly grateful for a community that continues to show up for local patients and families when they need it most.”
Making a Lasting Difference
Every dollar raised helps the CRMC Foundation connect patients with resources that ease the financial burden of medical care and provide hope during difficult times. The record-breaking Community Classic is a reminder that when a community comes together, it can make a meaningful difference in the lives of local families.
