Common Questions

What is Suboxone?

Suboxone is a prescription medication used in medication-assisted treatment for opioid addiction. It combines two ingredients:

  • Buprenorphine: A partial opioid agonist that reduces withdrawal symptoms and cravings.
  • Naloxone: Helps prevent misuse by triggering withdrawal if the medication is injected or abused.

Together, they provide a safe and effective way to support recovery from opioid dependence.

Is Suboxone Right for Me?

Suboxone is a trusted treatment option for people struggling with opioid addiction who are motivated to start their recovery journey. It works best when combined with counseling and long-term support. Whether Suboxone is a good fit depends on a few key factors:

  • The severity and length of your opioid use
  • The specific type of opioids you’ve been using
  • Your overall physical and mental health
  • Your commitment to follow through with treatment

There are other effective treatment options as well, including methadone, naltrexone, and abstinence-based programs. Your doctor can help you weigh these options and decide what’s best for your needs. We’re here to answer your questions and support you every step of the way. Taking that first step toward treatment can change your life.
