Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Senior Services Administrator Nancy Stratman and volunteer Deb Bergsnev will speak about the upcoming National Decision Day on KKIN Radio’s Community Connection program, 94.3 on the FM dial, Thursday, April 11, from 8 to 8:30 a.m.
Tuesday, April 16, is National Healthcare Decisions Day. Stratman and Bergsnev are encouraging people to speak with their loved ones, express their wishes regarding healthcare, participate in advance care planning and complete a health care directive.
Advance care planning is the process of preparing for a time when a person may not be able to make his or her own medical decisions. The process involves conversations throughout life about values, beliefs, goals for future health care and what is important. A health care directive outlines values and priorities for future medical treatment and identifies a health care agent.
Trained advance care planning facilitators are available at CRMC in Crosby to assist in completing health care directives. Call 218-546-7462 for an appointment.
