CROSBY, Minn. – Cuyuna Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is honored to recognize Jessica Mudgett, DNP, CNP, FNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, with the organization’s DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for outstanding patient care.

Mudgett’s nominator for the award wrote in-part, “Our dad would not be where he is without Jessica. We are so thankful! She answered all our questions, always helped us feel heard, and treated the whole situation with such tenderness. She also did an amazing job educating us on the progression of dementia. Thanks to her guidance (our dad) is truly a different man, and we now have a great plan to implement at his long-term care facility. She treated him with such dignity and compassion and our whole family as well. I will remember her and be so thankful for her, forever.”

CRMC implemented the DAISY Award in 2022. A CRMC committee carefully chooses among many deserving nominees quarterly to receive the prestigious recognition. Recipients are presented the award at a celebration attended by the honoree’s colleagues, patients, and visitors. Each honoree receives a certificate commending them as an “Extraordinary Nurse.” The certificate reads: “In deep appreciation of all you do, who you are, and the incredibly meaningful difference you make in the lives of so many people.” Honorees also receive a DAISY Award pin and a beautiful, meaningful sculpture called ‘A Healer’s Touch,’ hand-carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Zimbabwe.
