CEO Amy Hart Recognized Nationally for Rural Health Excellence

CROSBY, MN – Amy Hart, the Chief Executive Officer of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center (CRMC) was named to the 2025 list of “103 Critical Access Hospital Presidents and CEOs to Know” by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Becker’s editorial team curates the national recognition through a competitive nomination and review process; inclusion cannot be purchased or sponsored. CRMC is one of three Minnesota critical access hospitals represented on the national list, and the only one in our region, underscoring Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s excellence for rural health care in our communities.

Leadership Rooted in Patients, Employees, and Community Health

“Awards are nice and feel good, but the measure of whether I’m doing a good job is based on three things,” says, Amy Hart, “Are our patients receiving the best possible care? Do our employees and medical staff feel the positive impact of the work they do every day? And, are our communities getting healthier.”

Healthcare is a complicated industry, but Hart is quick to point out what matters most.

“Talent,” she says. “Our patients and their families need the most talented doctors and the most skilled caregivers. That’s our true north.”

She should know. In her former role as Chief Operating Officer at CRMC, Hart’s team recruited and hired many of the remarkably talented physicians at CRMC today from Orthopaedics to OB, and Family Medicine to Surgery.

When asked what’s next for CRMC, Hart is clear about the short-term and long-term future.

Expanding Access to Care Close to Home

“I raised two kids and was a busy, working mom,” she says, “I know how important it is to be able to get an appointment when you need it. So, we are always finding ways to improve our patients’ access to the remarkable care we offer and that they need.”

Hart continues, “Then as we age, we need access to care for chronic illness. We may need to have a hip replaced to stay active. And we need specialists who are close to home without having to drive miles away for care.”

National Recognition, Local Focus

It’s her brand of leadership that captures the attention of Becker’s Hospital Review and lands CRMC on the Newsweek World’s Best Hospitals list, as well as the High Performing Hospital designation by U.S. News & World Report. But closer to home, Amy Hart is always focused on what’s next and what’s best for the communities CRMC serves.

What’s Next for Cuyuna Regional Medical Center

As for the future, Hart says, “We’re working with Rice Lake Construction to expand our facilities for oncology services and surgical care. And I’m really excited about our new primary care clinic in Nisswa. It opens later this summer.”

With her energy and enthusiasm, Amy Hart really is a CEO to know.
