Those who can benefit are adults and children who need speech articulation therapy, alternative communication devices, memory and cognitive thinking rehabilitation, autism/pervasive developmental disorder therapy, auditory processing therapy, aphasia therapy, feeding and swallowing therapy, language or voice therapy.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapists treat a wide range of conditions to help patients regain strength, balance and full motion. They assist patients who need muscular/skeletal pain management, total joint replacement rehabilitation, reconditioning/strengthening, training with assistive devices, stroke, neurological and vestibular rehabilitation, neck and back pain management, casting and fitting of orthotics, pediatric developmental training, and pressure garment fitting.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapists work to maximize the patient's ability to conduct daily activities. Whether challenges are due to a stroke, a job–related injury, hand surgery, age–related disorder, or developmental delays, an Occupational Therapist addresses the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, sensory-perceptual, and other aspects of human performance and develops a treatment plan to meet each individual's needs.  CRMC also has a Certified Hand Therapist on staff to assist patients.

Exercise Physiology

Exercise Physiology is the identification of physiological mechanisms underlying physical activity, the comprehensive delivery of treatment services concerned with the analysis, improvement, and maintenance of health and fitness, rehabilitation of heart disease and other chronic diseases and/or disabilities, and the professional guidance and counsel of athletes and others interested in athletics, sports training, and human adaptability to acute and chronic exercise.

Specialty Services

Occupational Health Services

CRMC utilizes the Isernhagen method to complete a functional job analysis to determine a comprehensive list of the physical aspects of a specific job being analyzed. Physicians and other health care providers responsible for making return to work decisions find the information contained in a functional job description to be extremely helpful. Also offered are assessments of work stations for ergonomic integrity and safety including advice on helpful devices and equipment.  Educational presentations for both management and employees can be made as well as rehabilitating injured workers after an injury has occurred. Rehabilitation Services also offers Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE).

Sports Rehabilitation
CRMC’s Sports Rehab team is comprised of physical and occupational therapists with training and/or advanced certifications who have strong orthopedic backgrounds to evaluate and treat a variety of athletic injuries. They work closely with physicians to return patients to their pre-injury levels using a variety of techniques and treatments to help patients achieve maximal functional outcome and performance. Therapists have broad sports backgrounds and an extensive history treating athletes of all ages, levels, and abilities. They provide a thorough assessment of problems and help correct movement, strengthen muscles, and regain mobility.

Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation is designed to help patients with a history of any type of cardiac illness or lung disease lead healthier and more productive lives. Therapists provide monitored exercise and education to help patients recover faster and resume an active life with minimal limitations. They also provide education related to breathing techniques and self-management of respiratory symptoms. Patients can regain strength, endurance, and confidence through a progressive monitored exercise program paced to individual needs. Classes and personal instruction also help patients learn to modify risk factors.

Equipment and Testing

The department’s 5,000-square-feet of space has been designed to accommodate continued growth and a variety of therapeutic interventions.  Whether it’s the NASA inspired balance evaluation and training equipment, the highly motivational Dynavision testing and training device, or the MedEx machine designed to evaluate and train your low back muscles in an isolated manner for a fuller recovery after both acute and chronic injury, our department has the equipment and experts to aid your recovery.  And even with all of the cutting edge tools available, our most valuable assets are still our hands, knowledge, and the relationships we develop with clients.
