Bio

Board Certified Pediatrician and Sports Medicine physician Wendi Johnson, M.D., FAAP, began treating patients at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Crosby Clinic in September 2020. Dr. Johnson came to CRMC from St. Cloud, where she practiced at CentraCare Clinic Pediatrics from 2000-2020. She grew up in Michigan and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Hillsdale College. She then earned her Medical Degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, where she met her husband. Dr. Johnson completed her Residency in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and a Fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Dr. Johnson holds certifications in Pediatrics, Sports Medicine, and ImPact Consultation (concussion testing).

“As a Pediatrician, I enjoy and find it is crucial to partner with the whole family to give the best guidance on raising a healthy child. Getting to know the child and family during their visits, learning what they like/dislike, and getting them to smile/open up and interact with me are the things that make me smile! When it comes to practicing sports medicine, I enjoy working through a person’s recovery, whether short or long, and it is rewarding as a concussion doctor. In spite of the fact that people hear the terms concussion and concussion protocol, few people understand these terms and how it may apply to them.”

She and her husband, Dr. Tony Haas, a CRMC Emergency Physician, have two children. Dr. Johnson enjoys reading, swimming at the Hallet, biking with family, walking the dogs (2 English Springer Spaniels and a Sun Conure), knitting, and sewing. She is also a member of the Hallett Community Center Foundation Board and the Jessie F. Hallett Library Board. Dr. Johnson leads Walk with a Doc weekly on Wednesdays in Crosby.
