Atlantis Russ, M.D., Ph.D., manages the care of patients with cancer and hematologic issues from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship at the Cancer Care Center in Crosby. As an oncologist-hematologist, Dr. Russ treats cancer and blood disorders using medication, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy. She strives to provide personalized, compassionate, and evidence-based treatment plans tailored to the individual’s unique needs and goals. In cooperation with the Cancer Care Center’s talented and experienced staff, she helps patients to navigate their treatment journey, while maintaining their well-being and quality of life.

Dr. Russ completed a Hematology Oncology Fellowship in 2023 at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. Prior to that, at the University of Arizona in Tucson, she earned her Medical Degree and Doctorate in Genetics with a breast cancer focus and completed an Internal Medicine residency.

Before studying medicine, Dr. Russ worked as a wildlife biologist. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Tropical Conservation Biology and Environmental Science from the University of Hawaii in Hilo. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology at the University of Vermont in Burlington.

Dr. Russ is the author of numerous publications and has made presentations throughout the country. A researcher, she also taught university and high school classes. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, American Association for Cancer Research, Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society, and American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Russ enjoys paddle boarding, mountain biking, gardening, SCUBA diving, cross-country skiing, fat biking in the winter, and motorcycling.
