Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Pharmaceutical Purchaser Ashley Windorski of Pillager recently received the organization’s Trophy Fish Award for going above and beyond to assist a patient recently diagnosed with diabetes in finding affordable test strips.
Her nominator wrote, “When we tried to fill my husband’s test strips the copay was extremely expensive. Apparently, his insurance didn’t cover that particular brand. Ashley offered to do some research and find a brand that his insurance would cover. She spent a lot of time but was able to get a new monitor and test strips that the insurance would cover. We are so appreciative of the extra mile that Ashley went so that we could get affordable test strips.”
Windorski has been a member of CRMC’s staff since 2014. She also worked at Walgreen’s, Edgewood Assisted Living and Bethany Good Samaritan. A Licensed Pharmacy Technician, she is a graduate of Brainerd High School.
