Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Outpatient Pharmacy Pharmacist Brianne Burmeister of Brainerd on March 27 received the organization’s Trophy Fish Award for going above and beyond in her job duties.
Recently when calling a patient to schedule an appointment, Burmeister learned that she had knocked over many pill bottles and all her medications were mixed up. The pharmacist went to the patient’s home and returned the medications to their appropriate prescription bottles. The patient also had several pill boxes that she wasn’t using because of difficulty setting them up. Burmeister helped her set up two weeks’ worth of medication and made the patient a medication management appointment so she could learn to set up the medications herself and review them with a pharmacist.
Burmeister has been a member of CRMC’s staff since 2010. She earned her doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Minnesota in Duluth.
