A Matter of Balance, an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels, will be held in Longville on Wednesdays, May 1, through June 19, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church, located at 1340 County Road 5.
The program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls. Participants will learn to view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing activity, make changes to reduce fall risks at home, and exercise to increase strength and balance. The program is open to anyone who is concerned about falls; those interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength; anyone who has fallen in the past; and individuals who have restricted activities because of falling concerns.
Sponsored by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Longville Clinic, the fee is $15. To register or for more information, call Tal Hess at (218) 363-2282 or Sue Meyer at (218) 363-3659.
