Medical-Surgical Expansion Project Set to Begin
CROSBY, Minn. – Cuyuna Regional Medical Center (CRMC) will begin construction on a medical-surgical expansion project that will add six new medical-surgical rooms in mid-March. This addition increases the organization’s ability to care for patients.
The expansion project will take place in the former clinical simulation training space, previously used for staff education, located near the Birthing Center. Overall, the project is expected to take about six months to complete.
“We’re proud to invest in our community, and this expansion reflects our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality care close to home. As our community grows, we want to make sure we’re prepared to meet those healthcare needs,” said CEO Amy Hart. “By adding medical-surgical rooms, we’re ensuring we’re ready for our patients when they need us.”
The project is designed to strengthen the medical center’s ability to manage patient flow, respond to changing patient volumes and acuity levels, and continue providing safe, high-quality care for the community.
The main hallways serving OB, Wound Care, and Swing Bed may experience temporary disruptions during construction. A barrier will separate the construction zone, and adjacent clinical areas will remain accessible to patients and visitors.
During the construction, patients may notice temporary visual and logistical changes around the hospital. CRMC staff will be available to assist with directions and questions.
