CRMC Welcomes the First Baby of 2026, Daniel Louis

CROSBY, Minn. – Cuyuna Regional Medical Center (CRMC), in Crosby, rang in the New Year with a very special arrival! The first baby of the year was born on January 5, 2026, to proud parents Sarah Dear and Louis Wickizer of Brainerd, Minnesota.

Daniel Louis made his debut at 12:05 p.m. weighing 7 pounds, 11 ounces and measured 21 inches long. Daniel joins his siblings Kataleya, Lilliana, and Christian, making the New Year even more special for the growing family.

CRMC’s Birthing Center continues to see strong growth, welcoming 279 babies in 2025. Families receive comprehensive, compassionate care from early pregnancy through delivery, supported by an experienced team of OB/GYN specialists, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners, and Family Medicine physicians with a focus on obstetrics.
