Bio

Dr. Stephen C. Schmid is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, specializing in the treatment of foot and ankle injuries, trauma, and reconstructive conditions.

Dr. Schmid joined CRMC in July 2024 after practicing for eleven years at Lake Region Medical Group in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He brings extensive experience in both surgical and non-surgical care, with a strong focus on improving patient mobility and quality of life.

He has lectured nationally, conducted extensive research, and received multiple awards for his expertise in podiatric medicine and leadership. Dr. Schmid is also actively involved in global health through his volunteer work with Molo Hope Medical Missions in Kenya, providing care to underserved populations.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Schmid enjoys time with his family. He and his wife, who is also a podiatrist, have two children. He also has strong ties to Minnesota, having spent summers on the Whitefish Chain of Lakes.
