Bio

Nick Cooley began working as a Hospitalist at CRMC in November 2024. The doctor has years of experience in the medical field, including a variety of roles in primary care, care of hospitalized patients, and emergency medicines. He served in the Army for 7 years and found his passion for the medical field while working as an EMT. He received his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in Biology at St. Scholastica before attending the University of Minnesota Medical School – Twin Cities.

“I enjoy hospital medicine and caring for patients with more complex needs, as I find the challenging cases particularly rewarding. My experience as a primary care physician makes me a better hospitalist because it gives me a deeper understanding of what happens after discharge and whether the changes I make in the hospital will be sustainable for the patient once they return home.”

Nick is passionate about volunteering and has found fulfillment in serving on the college advisory board for the past six years at Minnesota North College – Vermillon campus and on the board of directors for a mental health-focused non-profit in Ely.

Outside of work, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife in the great outdoors, hiking, bird watching, camping, and snowshoeing.
