Certified Nurse Practitioner Destiny Amundson of Brainerd joined the medical staff of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in August 2023. She practices at CRMC’s Crosby Clinic. Amundson came to CRMC with more than ten years of patient care experience. She was a Registered Nurse at Essentia Health’s Emergency Department, CentraCare’s Emergency Trauma Center, Essentia Health’s Intensive Care Unit/Telemetry, and Lakewood’s Medical Surgical Unit. Amundson has also worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for North Memorial Ambulance since 2012. The Nurse Practitioner earned her Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University and Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Minnesota State University Mankato. She also holds an Associate Degree in Nursing, a Licensed Practical Nursing Diploma, and Emergency Medical Technician Certification from Central Lakes College. She holds certifications in Critical Care, Emergency Pediatrics, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Trauma Nursing, and Crisis Prevention Intervention.  Amundson is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the Emergency Nurses Association, and the Minnesota Nurses Association.

Amundson has a special interest in Dermatology with Dermoscopy, preventative care, and acute care. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, reading, crafting, and camping.
