Suboxone is a prescription medication that combines buprenorphine and naloxone. It is a proven medication-assisted treatment (MAT) option for opioid addiction. Buprenorphine, a partial opioid agonist, helps reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings, while naloxone discourages misuse by precipitating withdrawal if the medication is abused.

Suboxone is a helpful treatment for people who are struggling with opioid addiction and are also motivated to overcome it. Factors that impact eligibility include severity of addiction, type of opioids being used, overall health, and commitment to recovery. There are other options for treatment, including abstinent-based treatments, methadone, and naltrexone. You should discuss these options with your doctor to determine if Suboxone is the right treatment for you. We are also happy to discuss these options with you as well. Seeking help is the first step toward a healthier and fulfilling life!
