Cuyuna Area Connections, in partnership with CRMC, is sponsoring a free Lunch and Learn seminar, to better help the community understand N.E.A.R. (Neurobiology and Epigenetics, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES), and Resilience and Core Protective Systems). The seminar will be held on Tuesday, April 16, at noon at Heartwood Senior Living Community in Crosby.
This evidence-based curriculum provides a comprehensive understanding of:
- The neurological effects of toxic stress and trauma on the brain (Neurobiology).
- How the impact of early trauma can cross generations (Epigenetics).
- Detailed insights into the original study findings on Adverse Childhood Experiences.
- Strategies for fostering strength and resilience in both individuals and communities.
We will review why and how childhood adversity impacts our lives, our children’s lives, and our communities’ health. Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Christina Nelson, an ACES Trainer, and part of the Care Management team will lead the presentation. “ACEs affect every family and every community. If we create understanding, we can help everyone thrive, not just survive,” said Nelson.
The seminar is limited to 40 participants, and registration is required by Thursday, April 11. To secure a spot, please call 218-546-2357.
