
A total of $16,986 was raised for area hospice patients at Driving for Hospice, a new charity golf held August 30 at Cuyuna Rolling Hills Golf Course in Deerwood.
Twenty seven teams, a total of 108 golfers, participated in the 18-hole, best ball scramble. Tournament winners were: 1st place—Christenson-Severson-River Oaks with members Erik Christenson, Mclean Severson, Mikael Christenson and Mark Severson; 5th Place--Hunt Electric with members Paul Corey, Matt Heise, Dave Pierce and Mike Wilke; and last place--Rasinski’s Total Door Service with members Jason Rasinski, Don Rasinski, Eli Rasinksi and Christa Rasinski.

Hospice provides compassionate care and dignity for terminally ill people and supports their loved ones with comfort when time matters most. Proceeds from the inaugural fundraising event will stay in the community and be used to provide end-of-life care to hospice patients and fund supplies, medications and home equipment.
