
“Management Tools for Coaches of All Sports,” a free seminar on sports medical care and performance training for athletes of all levels, is being presented by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Sports Medicine team on Thursday, March 30, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at The Hudson, 208 Curtis Avenue in Ironton.
Area college, high school and other athletic coaches are invited to learn about the latest athletic injury prevention and treatment programs. Health care professionals will help coaches determine symptoms of injuries, when medical treatment is necessary, and whether its right for athletes to return to practice and competition.
Sports Medicine physician Wendi Johnson, M.D., will present “Concussion Management;” Registered Dietitian Heather Erickson will offer “Sports Nutrition: Knowledge is Power;” Surgeon Jeffrey Klassen, M.D., will speak on “The Shoulder in Overhead Athletes;” and Athletic Trainers Donovan Tiberg and Paige Peterson will lead “Athletic Taping Basics Stations.”
