Board Certified Psychiatrist Jennifer Laprise, M.D., Ph.D., of Champaign, Ill., began practicing at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in August 2023. She offers consultation, diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment services to adults ages 18 and older. Dr. Laprise treats individuals struggling with mood and anxiety disorders, schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, and other psychiatric illness. Her special interests include psychotic disorders, mood disorders, and trauma. The psychiatrist came to CRMC from the McKinley Health Center at the University of Illinois where she was lead psychiatrist since August 2021. She also held research, clinical associate, and teaching assistant positions at the university. Dr. Laprise completed her psychiatry residency and was Chief Resident at Carle Foundation Hospital at the University of Illinois. She also earned her Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology, and Master of Science in Microbiology at the university. In addition, she holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Biochemistry and Chemistry Cum Laude from California State University-Long Beach. Dr. Laprise was Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 2021. She is a member of the American Medical Association and American Psychiatric Association. The psychiatrist moved to the area with her husband Will. Outside of her practice, she enjoys reading, fishing, hunting, and kayaking.
