
“Menopause, Weight Gain and Obesity,” will be offered virtually on Thursday, Nov. 18, by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Bariatrician Angie Ausban, M.D. Go to https://www.facebook.com/crosbycares/ at 6 p.m. to view the presentation.
Dr. Ausban will discuss the causes of obesity and the role estrogen (or lack of estrogen) plays in weight gain along with some strategies for avoiding weight gain during menopause. Director of CRMC’s Weight Management Program, Dr. Ausban will also speak about the lifestyle change program which offers a long-term approach to weight management. Participants will be able to ask their individual questions via chat.
The presentation is part of a series of workshops offered by CRMC’s Menopause & Healthy Aging Center in which ladies can learn what, why and how to manage weight change; mood swings/memory and concentration concerns; menstrual changes; sleep problems; sexual concerns/pain/libido changes; vaginal dryness; and taking care of yourself during menopause.
