
Executive/Artistic Director of The Crossing Arts Alliance, Lisa Jordan of Brainerd, will be the guest artist at the Sprout Mobile Market art cart on Thursday, Sept. 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Heartwood Senior Living Community in Crosby. A felter, she creates in an art form that is less understood than painting or drawing.
The pop up grocery store on wheels is making a stop in Crosby on Thursday afternoons through the Fall. A variety of foods from fresh produce, eggs, garlic, flour, meat, cheese and grains will be also be available at Heartwood on Thursdays, October 10 and 24. During each visit a guest artist usually shares his or her works alongside the Mobile Market which accepts credit, debit, cash and check.
The Sprout Mobile Market is a vehicle for change, bringing food out of the aisles and on the road to areas which lack access to healthy, nutritious foods. The organization’s relationships with local growers and producers puts the freshest fare en route to rural communities, meeting them where they are.
Sprout is a non-profit organization based in Little Falls that aims to connect and strengthen the local food system.
