Emergency Services

We're here for life's mishaps.

The Emergency Department provides medical evaluation and treatment to presenting patients of various ages with varying levels of illness and injury from minor to critical.  Services include medical screening evaluations, patient triage, medical procedures, and testing as it pertains to the services rendered.

The Emergency Department is located at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center on the Medical Campus in Crosby. The department is a 13-bed emergency treatment facility, staffed with board-certified physicians, expert, caring nurses, and technologists. Our Emergency Department is a state-of-the-art facility designed from the ground up for emergency medicine.

Objectives of the Emergency Department are to provide a clinical environment conducive to medical screening evaluation and identification of emergency medical conditions, prioritization (triage) for treatment, appropriate medical interventions, and evaluation of response to treatment.

Accidents can happen at any time. CRMC’s Emergency Department physicians are all American Board of Emergency Medicine certified, which means that no matter what happens you’re receiving expert care.

All of our nurses are required to have Trauma and Advanced Life Support certifications, including in pediatrics. You and your whole family will be getting care from nurses who are certified and trained for emergencies.

All of our nurses and doctors have specific trauma training. When recreating or vacationing in the area, you’ll have quick access to trauma care including a comprehensive assessment, resuscitation, and expert care of injuries.

CRMC has a helipad on site which means if a patient needs to be transferred to another facility, it can be done quickly via helicopter. This service allows patients to be brought to where they can be provided with the necessary care when time is of the essence.

When emergencies strike, rest assured that you’ll be seen quickly. No matter the time of the day.

CRMC has an ambulance service right on campus, meaning that should a transfer to another facility be needed, there’s no wait.

CRMC always has a stroke care team available consisting of Emergency Department physicians and nurses as well as staff from the laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy who collaborate with paramedics and other emergency services staff to provide the best care possible.

CRMC’s Emergency Department partners with the local mobile crisis unit and Avel eCare Behavioral Health to provide comprehensive services.

Patients always have access to necessary medications after-hours in an InstyMeds machine located in the Emergency Department waiting area.
