Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Certified Hand Therapist Rose Bankers will speak about occupational therapy (OT) on KKIN Radio’s Community Connection program, 94.3 on the FM dial, Thursday, May 10, from 8 to 8:30 a.m.
The specialist will define OT and describe how it differs from physical therapy. Bankers will also review the OT services that are provided at CRMC as well as the kinds of services that are provided for patients after a total hip or knee replacement. She will explain how OT can help someone after a traumatic brain injury and help people determine whether they should still drive a car after an injury or as the result of aging. Bankers will also explain how OT helps patients and families determine the level of supervision they may need after an illness or injury.
Voted Minnesota’s OT of 2004, Rose Bankers graduated from the College of St. Catherine with a degree in OT. She has specialty certifications in hand therapy and lymphedema treatment and became a Graston practitioner in 2016. The therapist has additional expertise in functional capacity and ergonomic evaluations as well as job analysis. She enjoys educating patients as part of their rehabilitation process and designing clinic and home programs that help patients meet their functional goals. Outside of work, Bankers enjoys spending time with her husband and three children as well as practicing Taekwondo.
