Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Care Center LPN Kelsey Gates of Crosby on June 10 received the organization’s Trophy Fish Award for going above and beyond by showing extra compassion for a resident undergoing a difficult time.
After discovering that one her residents was nervous and upset about an upcoming procedure, Gates took it upon herself to create a motivational gift basket. She then encouraged many members of the Care Center Team to write motivational notes to help encourage and cheer the resident. “This simple act of kindness made that resident’s day,” her nominator wrote. “Kelsey is a great example of our CRMC mission.”
A member of CRMC’s staff since 2017, Gates is a graduate of Brainerd Senior High School.
