
Dr. Gail Clifford, a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician, will begin working as a Hospitalist at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby this week. She will focus on the general medical care of hospitalized patients.
The physician relocated to Deerwood from Arizona where she was a hospitalist the past two years. She also practiced as a hospitalist in Tacoma, Wash.; Mankato; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Bremerton, Washington; Council Bluffs, Iowa; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Belleville, Illinois. She began her career working in private practice as an internist in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
Dr. Clifford earned her Medical Degree at New York Medical College; Masters of Medical Management at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Bachelor of Science degree in biology, cum laude, at Saint Louis University in Missouri. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Polyclinic Medical Center in Harrisburg, Penn. The physician also completed a Master’s screenwriting course.
The hospitalist is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and Society of Hospital Medicine and a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. A member of the American College of Physicians, Association of Physician Leaders, Society of Hospital Medicine and American Medical Association, she has received numerous awards, published several papers and made numerous presentations.
Outside of her practice, Dr. Clifford is active with screenwriting and enjoys exploring locally with her travel writing.
