Clinic Certified Medical Assistant Laura Hoffard of Breezy Point this week received Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Trophy Fish Award for going above and beyond in her job by purchasing snacks with her own money for a patient who had a long clinic wait and was hungry.
“Talk about commitment and devotion to her patients, this kind gesture is a true form of dedication. Laura took it upon herself to make someone’s clinic experience better, just out of true kindness,” her nominator wrote. “Seeing this made my heart melt. I know nurses work so hard and do a lot of unnoticed “special” things that make their patients feel so much more comfortable and more at home. These things have to be second nature to nurses, but being able to witness it was so heartfelt.”
Hoffard has been a member of CRMC’s staff since January. She is a graduate of Brown College in Minneapolis.
