
Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Clinic Director Cindy Schmitz of Ironton recently successfully completed the National Association of Rural Health Clinic Academy’s Rural Health Clinic Professional online course and examination and is now a Certified Rural Health Clinic Professional.
The director completed 30 hours of online coursework designed around operating a successful rural health clinic and learned the federal and state guidelines pertaining to a rural health clinic program. She completed modules on administration and finance, billing and coding, human resources, regulatory compliance and quality. Schmitz also sat for an exam at the National Association of Rural Health Clinic Academy’s Spring Institute held in San Antonio Texas on March 20 to 22.
Schmitz manages all activities that contribute to the operational, clinical and business functions of CRMC’s Baxter, Longville and Breezy Point clinics. She assures the clinic provides high quality patient care with exceptional service in a cost-effective manner by monitoring daily operations, assisting in developmental activities, assisting in financial planning, budgeting and monitoring, and employee relations. A member of CRMC’s staff since 1994, Schmitz holds a degree in Healthcare Administration from St. Joseph’s College of Maine.
