The public is invited to show their support for area cancer patients by attending Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Kaleidoscope—A Celebration of Courage event on Tuesday evening, Oct. 23, at Heartwood Senior Living Community in Crosby.

Beginning at 5 p.m. there will be a silent auction of numerous items donated by area businesses and individuals followed by several games of chance. Survivors will be recognized with special colored ribbons. Decadent desserts and savory hors d'oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available. 

The cost of cancer treatment quickly becomes a burden for patients will all types of cancer. All proceeds from Kaleidoscope benefit the Courage Cabinet which makes the journey a little easier for cancer patients by providing financial assistance to help meet basic needs and allow them to focus on healing. Donations are used to provide things like travel assistance, nutrition supplements, medications, compression garments and more to those in the fight of their lives. Over the past six years, more than $60,000 in Cabinet funds have been awarded to local patients.
