Cuyuna Regional Medical Center will open a new physician clinic in Breezy Point on Monday, April 1, to better serve the medical needs of North-Central Crow Wing County and improve access to quality healthcare.
“CRMC’s goal is to bring as many services as we can to the patient and were excited to partner with Whitebirch, Inc., and the City of Breezy Point to provide this new clinic in an area where numerous patients already receive our services,” said CEO Kyle Bauer. He added that CRMC continually evaluates demographic shifts, community need, depth and breadth of available services, accessibility and consumer ease to bring high quality, convenient health services closer to the communities it serves.
The $3 million, 10,000 square-feet facility includes nine exam rooms, a procedure room, laboratory, X-ray room, central nurses station, registration and welcoming patient area. Over 16 qualified staff are employed at the clinic which has additional space available for expansion.
Dr. Mark Berntson, a Board-Certified family physician with 30 years’ experience, is leading the medical staff which also includes nurses, laboratory technologists, phlebotomists, diagnostic imaging technicians and receptionists. Dr. Berntson has been practicing at the Crosby and Baxter clinics since December. He came to CRMC from Grand Forks, North Dakota, where he worked for Sandford Health.
The Breezy Point Clinic, like all CRMC satellite locations, is connected to the MyChart electronic health record system, so all patients’ vital medical information is available to any CRMC provider, no matter where they are seen, for better coordinated care.
The new clinic is the anchor of the new North Star Center being developed on 20 acres along county road 11 across from the Breezy Point Sports Center. The complex, named after the Breezy Point North Stars USA Hockey sanctioned junior ice hockey team, also includes Guide Point Pharmacy. Other medical related facilities, a gas station and convenience store are also planned for the site, according to developer Bob Spizzo, CEO of Whitebirch, Inc.
CRMC’s Breezy Point Clinic hours are Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. For an appointment, call (218) 568-4926. Visit cuyunamd.org for more information.
