Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Revenue Cycle Director Arlene Haukos of Ironton on May 25 received the organization’s Fire Starter Award for her outstanding leadership. The Fire Starter Award recognizes leaders who, through their dedication and passion, guide and support CRMC's commitment to excellence while keeping the true spirit of the organization alive and flourishing.
Chief Finance Officer Katie Berg presented the award saying, “Arlene is fair, a good teammate, trusts your input, and makes you feel valued. She is thorough, thoughtful, considers everything before making decisions, and remains calm even in the most difficult conversations. Arlene is professionally assertive in situations that warrant it, is dedicated to her department and many others in the organization, and is supportive in any situation, whether it be a small process change or a complete policy overhaul. Arlene is also appreciated for her extensive knowledge about HIPAA rules and regulations.”
Haukos has been CRMC’s Revenue Cycle Director since 2017, managing Health Information Management and the Business Office. She also served as CRMC’s HIM Director for six years. Haukos is certified by the Healthcare Financial Management Association as a Revenue Cycle Representative and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Healthcare Informatics & Information Management at the College of St. Scholastic in Duluth. She is a member of the American Health Information Management Association.
