About This Provider:

Dr. Laura Fier began working as a hospitalist at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in August 2017. She focuses on the general medical care of hospitalized patients. The physician moved to the Brainerd Lakes Area from Columbia Heights.  She completed an Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency at the University of Minnesota, earned her Medical Degree at the University of Minnesota Medical School, and Bachelor’s degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder.  The physician has served in several volunteer positions including organizing a medical career exploration program for high school minorities, being a research assistant testing for and studying the prevalence of Hepatitis B in a Loa Community, as a community outreach assistant for colonoscopies for the underserved and uninsured, a pharmacy assistant at a health clinic, recreation assistant at a care center and water ski instructor for the disabled. A member of the American Medical Association, Minnesota Medical Association, and Twin Cities Medical Society, Dr. Fier has also presented academic posters. Her husband, Dr. Ryan Fier, is a physician at CRMC’s Baxter Clinic
