Dr. Walz and Dr. Rathe join CRMC
(Crosby, MN) – Cuyuna Regional Medical Center has welcomed Dr. Joe Walz and Dr. Laura Rathe to the medical campus in Crosby. Dr. Walz is Medical Director of the Emergency Department and serves as one of the emergency room staff physicians and Dr. Rathe has joined the Internal Medicine Department.
Dr. Joe Walz’s career in medicine started in Stillwater in 1985 as an Emergency Room Physician. In 1987, Dr. Walz relocated his family to Aitkin and began practicing as a Family Medicine physician at the Ripple River Medical Center until 1996. That same year he began a new career at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd as a Staff Physician in their Emergency Medicine Department. He then served as the Emergency Department Medical Director at St. Joseph’s from 1998 to 2008. Dr. Walz also served the community of Pierz as a Family Medicine physician in 1999 until joining Cuyuna Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Laura Rathe began her medical career studying at the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed residency at Emanual Hospital in Portland Oregon. In 1990, she began an eleven year solo practice in Craig Colorado before joining the Department of Internal Medicine at the Billings Clinic in Billings Montana where she practiced most recently for the past ten years. Dr. Rathe joins current Internal Medicine physician Dr. Kuhlmann along with Gail Seeker, CNP and the experienced Internal Medicine Department staff.
