Christmas comes early for Crosby Care Center

Initiated by the Family Support Group, Christmas came early this year for the Crosby Care Center residents. A new piano and 32" flat panel television arrived last week because of generous donations from private individuals and local businesses.Local resident and Family Support Group member Robbie Callisto lead the effort to contact businesses - receiving overwhelming financial support for the purchase and donation of these two items.

Family Support Group members recognized the need to replace and update various resident items - and in light of legislative funding reductions, this group knew that it would take support from our community and local business to facilitate this need.

The Family Support Group was formed in November of 2008 - when Care Center representatives encouraged current resident family members to gather and share experiences and to receive educational offerings provided by Care Center leadership.

According to Kris Neff, Chief Operating Office for Senior Services on The Medical Campus in Crosby, "the on going support we receive from our community demonstrates the compassion and commitment to enriching our residents lives."

A heart felt Thank You to the 1st National Bank of Deerwood for donating the television. If you are interested in donating, the Family Support Group is still accepting donations, which can be sent to Cuyuna Regional Medical Center - attention Kris Neff.
